From our small workshop at the foot of Mt. Yotei, we build snowboards shaped by the local wood and materials we use, the mountains around us and the way we want to ride them.
THERE'S A REASON WE DO IT THIS WAY
We build every board ourselves because it's the only way to get it right. Our cores are Hokkaido-grown Honoki & Tamo, from the same landscape the boards are ridden in. We use only the highest quality materials available, from Japanese steel edges to super-fast sintered carbon base material - because speed is your friend. Then we test every shape right here, in the terrain they were made for, until each one rides exactly how we want.

RIDERS, ARTISTS, MAKERS
Island grew out of the DIY spirit of skate and snowboard culture and the psychedelic music we love. It's run by snowboarders, and every board has a crew behind it. Riders & Guides help shape and test them, Artists from our community give them their graphics, and local craftspeople help bring the whole thing to life. Each model is named after a record that moved us. We're a small family, and you can be part of it...
Who Island is not
Island isn't a corporate conglomerate with shareholders and a boardroom. We don't mass-produce cookie-cutter snowboards in a desert factory on the other side of the world. We build premium quality, handmade snowboards, in limited numbers for people who take pride in what they ride. We’re not for everybody, but if you’re reading this then we may be for you...
